[Spotlight] Arrrh! It’s Royal Pirates!
The boys of Royal Pirates are no strangers to KPop listeners around the globe — in fact, they’ve become increasingly infamous for their rock renditions of hit songs like Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry, 2PM’s Again and Again, and Wonder Girls’ Nobody. More recently they released a rock cover of SNSD’s Tell Me Your Wish [Genie]. Formerly called fadingfromdawn at their Youtube account, they tranformed into the moniker...

Pint Sized Sweethearts

Pint Sized Sweethearts
If you think it was amazing how South Korea’s Wonder Girls achieved a worldwide internet phenomenon from their hit singles Tell Me and Nobody… spawning hundreds of tribute videos and parodys on Youtube alone, then you know how much the Internet has embraced these young sweethearts – Its hard not to know Kylie, the adorable 4 1/2 little girl that singlehandedly brought back the coolness (and cuteness) to a PC. Featured are some of faces of Asian American talent, such as AJ Rafael, Andrew Garcia, Cathy Nguyen (she was featured in one of...

Both have sizable resumes, having worked with names such as Omarion and...

[Spotlight] Seriously? We Ain’t Kidding.
Fresh Asian American talents behind the band Seriously… these talents come in the form of four young men all hailing from Diamond Bar, California. Members Philip Park, Chris Pham, Josh Baek, and Nathan Park all attended the same church at one point and started the band as more of a collaboration group. Eventually in 2006 they came together to compete in LA’s premier Asian American talent show, Kollaboration where they won the Grand Prize...

Imitation is Flattery…

Imitation is Flattery…
To celebrate the opening of their official website, one of the premier magazines KoreAm Journal is sponsoring a contest called Drama For Yo Mama, where contestants can submit video clips of kdrama parodies. Now submissions have already been closed, but since I discovered this contest, a couple of them stood out. Both seem to be almost professionally produced, and foremost have entertaining scripts that really make fun of common kdrama plots. A parody...
