To celebrate the opening of their official website, one of the premier magazines KoreAm Journal is sponsoring a contest called Drama For Yo Mama, where contestants can submit video clips of kdrama parodies. Now submissions have already been closed, but since I discovered this contest, a couple of them stood out. Both seem to be almost professionally produced, and foremost have entertaining scripts that really make fun of common kdrama plots.

A parody of the typical gangpae or gangster theme in Korean dramas and films is brought by Unit5 Films, a short trailer for a fictional drama called Gochu (hot pepper in Korean):

Here is another one made by the founders of one of the largest Asian performance events — Kollaboration, a parody on the hit kdrama Boys Over Flowers. Here they use the contest sponsors, Verizon to create Phones Before Flowers:
